Technical Writer Technical Writer


The Technical Writer is responsible for writing instruction manuals, tech-sheets, procedures, brochures, and other supporting documents to clearly communicate technical information and proper procedures to the end user. The Technical Writer will also develop, gather, and disseminate technical information among customers, technical teams, and project leads. The Technical Writer will work with and under the direction of the Vice President of Design Engineering.

PBE Axell Enviromental Monitoring Responsibilities/Duties

  • Writes and edits technical documents including reference manuals, tech-sheets and product manuals.
  • Writes and edits procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.
  • Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
  • Meets with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
  • Studies product samples to fully understand the product.
  • Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
  • Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines.
  • Creates diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
  • Takes pictures or line drawings of the products and incorporates them into the manuals, tech-sheets, installation guides or any other customer facing documents
  • Gathers feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers to improve technical documents.
  • Keeps all product documents up to date as updates or revisions are made to the products

PBE Axell Enviromental Monitoring Education/Work Experience

  • Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • At least 1 or 2 years of relevant experience is a plus.

PBE Axell Enviromental Monitoring Physical Demands:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight 25 lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
