PBE Axell Leaky Feeder

Radio waves travel through the air omnidirectionally making radio in tunnels or in underground environments difficult. PBE’s Leaky Feeder solves this problem by forming an antenna that is installed throughout an underground system, providing complete radio communication coverage. The Leaky Feeder cable is strong and flexible, so can be installed around corners and turns. PBE’s Leaky Feeder cable is a type of coaxial cable that ‘leaks’ radio signals throughout the mine.

Centrian Radiating Cable Data

PBE Axell's Centrian solution provides a data solution over radiating cable for the provision of an IP Network in addition to reliable and robust voice communications (VHF). Implementation of PBE Centrian provides technological advancement coupled with cost saving. Interface points on the amplifiers and Centrain client units allow for any IP devices to be connected such as Wi-Fi hotspots, live video feeds or LAN/WAN extensions underground.

Centrian provides high speed data, remote control, and voice communications over standard radiating cable (leaky feeder). Allowing for existing cable infrastructure to be easily upgraded. Partial Centrian network deployment can be achieved with minimum headend additions and installation of amplifiers while maintaining existing amplifiers.

Extensions to the network can also be achieved by separate fiber routing to remote areas, allowing for further Centrian deployment. Full reporting, geographical maps, diagnostics, and alarms are provided by PBE’s user friendly Centrian, or integrated into PBE Vantage, the control and monitoring software suite.

FM & Analogue Compatible

Analogue has poorer sound quality compared with FM, but is cheaper and can be transmitted over long distances. It has a lower bandwidth so it can have more stations available in any frequency range. FM is less prone to interference than AM.

Diagnostics

Centrians network diagnosis feature is an essential tool in network management. Due to the ad-hoc nature, once deployed, the inner structures and interactions within a network are challenging to observe from the outside.

Minimum IP55/NEMA4X Rated enclosure

Protection from dust and dirt, water and moisture and built to withstand harsh environments. Depending on the industry or application, there may be regulations or standards that require equipment to be housed in enclosures with a minimum IP55/NEMA4X rating.

VHF and UHF

Longer range, better penetration, interference resistant and low power consumption VHF and higher bandwidth, better line of sight, less interference and greater pivacy UHF.
