The Quality Engineer I is responsible Automate / evaluate existing and new methods to mitigate risk working in concert with design and test engineering. Conduct regular evaluations to maintain site efficiencies and safe work environment. Design and develop quality programs to meet standard SOPs for products in concert with local, regional, and international regulatory concerns. This includes as needed; writing quality and safety documentation that identifies technical issues and frames root cause with best practice solutions. Reports directly to PBE Axell Global Quality Manager.

PBE Axell Quality Engineers in Tazewell, Virgina, US Responsibilities/Duties

  • Handles daily quality problems encountered by operators or inspectors in conjunction with applicable supervisors.
  • Writes, reviews, and trains personnel on manufacturing instructions for all applicable assemblies including rework operations for any returns from the field.
  • Develops Inspection Instructions for specific products or product types and provides training.
  • Reviews configuration control records for all assemblies built for customers.
  • Reviews Engineering changes from the customer as related to Manufacturing Instructions, Drawings, Parts Lists, Wire Lists or any other applicable engineering or build documentation.
  • Writes company or customer specific process specifications as required by production and quality with support of manager.
  • Designs inspection aides and selects instruments needed to aid inspection in checking assemblies.
  • Red line authority for temporary changes to engineering or building documentation.
  • Examines equipment, processes, and assembly operations for improvements in quality and time standards.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiencies by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
  • Performs audits as required for manufacturing and manufacturing related departments.
  • Interfaces with customer counterparts.

  • Associates or Bachelors technical degree and/ or at least two years’ experience in Quality Department.
