The Electronic Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing and manufacturing a variety of electronic equipment and systems under the direction of the Vice President of Engineering.

PBE Axell Electronics Design Engineers in Tazewell, Virgina, US Responsibilities/Duties

  • Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems emphasis on both digital and analog circuit design and firmware development.
  • Develops and incorporates new technology into the design or re-design of electrical components or products.
  • Provide support to field service and manufacturing in the service and support of existing products.
  • Creates and enters the electronic schematic into the CAD system.
  • Work with senior level engineers to design analog and digital circuitry, and document designs using schematic capture software and PCB layout tools.
  • Work with senior engineers to develop subsystem and system level specifications, support the development and implementation of board test processes.
  • Simulate, prototype, test, and debug circuitry as required. Test and debug loaded PCB’s.
  • Support the hardware development process from design, layout, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Specify, develop, and/or implement required firmware or software drivers and test setups.
  • Perform duties as an accomplished professional, capable of addressing technical matters.
  • Create manuals and/or technical datasheets for PBE products.
  • Create and/or modify bills of materials for products
  • Create the necessary instructions needed for testing PBE products and sub-assemblies.
  • Create test plans to evaluate and document internal testing of PBE products and/or sub-assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot problems as they occur and develop logical course for corrective action when required.
  • Specify and select electrical/electro-mechanical system components and vendors, i.e., electronics components, motors, solenoids, sensors, etc.
  • testing and design.

PBE Axell Electronics Design Engineers in Tazewell, Virgina, US Education/Work Experience

  • Minimum of B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years’ experience with analog and/or digital circuit design.
  • Some formal training in PCB design, implementation, and test desired or preferred.
  • Professional registration, other education or degrees, and extensive applicable experience may be considered as a substitute for the educational requirement. Knowledge of ‘C’ and assembly programming language a plus.
